About.
DR. SAM BELL, Physical therapist & Athletic Trainer
Prior to moving to California in 2020, I spent 2 seasons on the Houston Astros medical staff serving a dual role of athletic trainer and team physical therapist. From 2012 to 2018 I worked as a physical therapist and assistant athletic trainer with the Baltimore Ravens, and was fortunate enough to be a part of the team during their Super Bowl Championship season. I received my Doctorate of physical therapy from Columbia University in 2012, Masters in athletic training from West Virginia University in 2009, and my Bachelors in athletic training from Purdue University in 2006. I served as an intern with the 2012 Pittsburgh Pirates, 2006-07 Miami Dolphins, and 2004 & 2005 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Following my work in pro sports, I saw the disparity in care accessible to youth athletes, recreational athletes, and the general fitness population in comparison with pro-athletes. My hope in creating The Training Room is to provide a place where athletes of all ages can have access to the highest quality of physical therapy and performance services, to give each of them the best chance at achieving their goals. I currently live in Huntington Beach with my wife, Amanda, & our children Sammy, and Lily. We enjoy spending our time together outdoors, biking, hiking, camping and hanging at the beach.
